Language preference

When you choose NL or EN, MyCar stores your language preference for up to one year in the mycar-locale cookie. This cookie is not used for tracking. Without a saved choice, MyCar follows your supported browser language.

No tracking cookies

MyCar NL does not currently use advertising cookies, product analytics or cross-site tracking. There is no optional tracking cookie, so there is no consent banner to accept or reject.

Account session cookies

If you choose to sign in when accounts are enabled, MyCar uses essential cookies to maintain and refresh your secure session. They are required for account access and are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. Signing out removes the active session.

Browser storage used by MyCar

MyCar uses local browser storage to provide features you choose to use. Garage information stays on this device unless a signed-in user explicitly chooses to back it up to their MyCar account.

• Garage vehicles, mileage, maintenance and expenses
• Document metadata and selected PDF or image files stored in browser storage on this device

How long it stays

Browser-stored information and selected document files remain until you remove them using an available MyCar control or clear this site’s browser data. They may also disappear if your browser removes site data. Document files are not uploaded or included in cloud Garage backups during this beta.

Essential service data

The hosting and security systems process technical information needed to deliver the site, prevent abuse and diagnose failures. Hashed rate-limit identifiers expire after the 60-second protection window. MyCar’s structured application logs exclude licence plates and raw IP addresses, but hosting request logs can contain a checked licence plate when it appears in the requested address. On the current Vercel Hobby plan, runtime request logs are available to the operator for up to one hour. Access is limited to the operator and the hosting provider; other provider security records follow the provider’s retention rules.

If this changes

If MyCar later introduces optional analytics, advertising or another technology that requires consent, it will update this notice and ask for a choice before activating it.
